The authors say five is usually the minimum age before a child's love language can be determined as it's prone to fluctuate in the early years. My child is only two which is a bit young for her love language to be obvious. I know that was not the authors' intention and maybe not everyone will get that feeling, but that's how it was for me.The 5 Love Languages of Children is geared for children above age five. At times, the book was a bit overwhelming to me as it felt like I have to do everything perfectly or I'm going to really mess my child up. There is a full chapter as well as a love language “game” at the end dedicated to help parents correctly identify how a child gives and receives love. The explanations of each language were informative, but the real life examples were what I found to be most helpful. Parents are encouraged to love their children unconditionally, which is sometimes not as easy as one would assume it to be, and to successfully express that love to a child.I found The 5 Love Languages of Children to be insightful and challenging. Each of the five love languages is explained and examples are given of how to use (and how not to use) a child's love language. ![]() Ross Campbell apply Chapman's popular concept of the five love languages to the parent-child relationship. ![]() ![]() ![]() After they unfold their papers it is found out that Tessie’s slip of paper has a black mark on it which Mr. Bill, his wife Tessie and their three children Bill Jr., Nancy and Dave all pick a paper. Overall, Tweet Cute by Emma Lord is an enjoyable, charming & fun read. I think this is something a lot of people can relate to. The differences in the parent’s expectations between Jack & his brother are very interesting. Jack is a great character too! I love that Lord focuses on the relationship between Jack & his brother. This story focuses on a viral Twitter feud involving grilled cheese sandwiches. They bake ridiculous things like Monster Cake & I couldn’t love it more! Also, as I’m typing this review I am just realizing that the character’s names are Pepper & Jack. Match that with uprooting herself to NYC & maintaining a blog with her sister & she’s got a lot going on. Pepper already has the burden of class, test & trying to get into a good college. She’s doing this while she is still in High School. I love how Lord addresses the fact that Pepper’s family is putting some unnecessary stress on her by having her run their corporation’s Twitter account. Tweet Cute by Emma Lord addresses some timely & relatable issues. This book is so CUTE! While it’s marketed as YA, I honestly feel like my middle-grade reader could read this book & enjoy it. ![]() Special thanks to Wednesday Books for providing our copy of Tweet Cute by Emma Lord in exchange for an honest & fair review. ![]() |
